Maine’s Documentary: Uninhabited Islands Near Bar Harbor

Remote Islands off Maine’s coastline that was full of human life in the early 20th Century have been abandoned for many, many years. What were once roads, have slowly disappeared. What were homes, have started to crumble. All signs of human life are slowly fading away.
Documentary film maker, David DeVries is currently working on a project where he films areas that were once inhabited by humans but have since been deserted. DeVries choose Great Duck Island and other small land masses off the coast of Mount Dessert Island to film part of his documentary. His is trying to show people what the world would be like without human life. By filming in these remote areas that were once inhabited by humans, but not so for many years, he can show that without maintenance, things deteriorate very quickly.
This documentary should be seen in the near future on the History Channel.
